About the Family

A warm, thoughtful, and engaged family in the Waban neighborhood of Newton is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly adaptable nanny to support their two daughters and help maintain a well-functioning household. Both girls are bright, creative, fun, and deeply engaging. The older daughter, age 12, has Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and the younger daughter, age 8, has Level 1 ASD and a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile.

One Mom is actively involved in the children’s daily lives as a stay-at-home parent while the other works on a hybrid schedule between a home office and an outside office. The family is seeking a nanny who is comfortable collaborating closely with Mom throughout the day and who can dynamically shift priorities to best support the needs of the younger child and the household as a whole. The family values kindness, flexibility, creativity, emotional regulation, and a proactive mindset. There are no pets in the home and no plans to add pets in the future.

About the Role

This is a full-time nanny position that combines childcare support with some household assistance. The ideal candidate will be warm, calm, flexible, and highly intuitive, with the ability to think one step ahead and adapt to changing needs throughout the day.

The family’s 8-year-old daughter is bright, imaginative, and engaging. She does not attend school and receives support services throughout the week, including an academic specialist on Mondays, an in-home therapist on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and occupational therapy on Fridays. The nanny will play an important role in helping facilitate enriching projects and activities at home, supporting daily routines, encouraging engagement, and creating a calm, positive environment that meets her where she is.

Both children thrive in a low-demand environment that prioritizes connection over compliance. The family utilizes a collaborative, relationship-based approach and values caregivers who are comfortable using declarative language, supporting autonomy, and building trust through flexibility, curiosity, and genuine connection. The ideal candidate will understand how to provide guidance and structure without engaging in power struggles and will be skilled at adapting their approach based on the needs of the moment.

In addition to childcare responsibilities, the role includes light home tidying, basic meal preparation for the children, household errands, and helping maintain smooth day-to-day household operations.

The family would appreciate flexibility for occasional date nights or weekend support if available, though this is not required. The position does not require travel.

The ideal candidate is dependable, kind, creative, emotionally regulated, and proactive. They are able to remain calm under pressure, avoid power struggles, think outside the box, and bring a steady, even-keeled presence to the home. A strong understanding of neurodivergent children and a willingness to collaborate closely with parents and other professionals is highly valued.

About the Family

A warm and loving family in Tenleytown is seeking a nurturing, detail-oriented, and highly communicative nanny to care for their infant son beginning in September. Their baby boy is happy, growing well, and beginning to settle into more consistent routines and schedules. He enjoys exploring and engaging with the world around him, and his parents are looking for a nanny who genuinely enjoys supporting infant development in a thoughtful and engaging way.

Dad is a native Spanish speaker and Mum also speaks Spanish, so the family would love for their nanny to primarily speak Spanish with the baby throughout the day. They are specifically hoping to find a nanny who is fluent or highly proficient in Spanish and who can naturally incorporate the language into daily routines, play, and communication.

Both parents work full-time, with Dad working from the office daily and Mum splitting her time between working from home and the office. The family values consistency, warmth, professionalism, and strong communication and hopes to build a long-term relationship with someone who can grow alongside their family over the coming years.

About the Role

This role will focus on providing attentive and developmentally appropriate care for the family’s infant son while helping maintain a calm, organized, and nurturing household environment. The baby is currently exclusively breastfed and will transition to a combination of bottle feeding and breastfeeding once Mom returns fully to work. He sleeps well overnight, though crib naps are still developing, so the family would value a nanny who is experienced with infant schedules, sleep routines, and developmental milestones.

The nanny will facilitate enriching, screen-free activities throughout the day including walks, library outings, parks, museums, reading, classes, and other experiences that encourage exploration and independent learning. The family appreciates a nanny who is proactive, engaging, and excited to foster curiosity and healthy development during infancy and beyond.

Child-related household responsibilities include:

  • Children’s laundry

  • Bottle cleaning and sanitation

  • Meal prep for the baby

  • Kitchen tidying

  • Light home tidying and organization

  • Taking out garbage

  • Occasional errands

  • Helping maintain a clean and organized household

The family has professional cleaners but would love someone who naturally helps keep the home tidy day-to-day. Preparing simple homemade baby food would be a wonderful bonus but is not required.

The family also has a large, friendly Labrador Retriever. A dog walker comes midday, so direct pet care responsibilities will be minimal, though the nanny should be comfortable around large dogs and navigating child-pet dynamics.

Requirements:

  • Prior professional nanny experience

  • Experience caring for infants

  • Fluent or highly proficient Spanish speaker required

  • Strong understanding of infant development and developmental milestones

  • Warm, nurturing, detail-oriented, and communicative personality

  • Reliable, consistent, and proactive

  • Ability to maintain infant schedules and routines

  • Comfortable facilitating enriching, screen-free activities

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with work-from-home parents

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Excellent references from previous families

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Family requires candidates to stay up to date on Covid boosters, flu vaccine, Tdap, and MMR vaccines

Pets: One large Labrador Retriever; family has a regular dog walker

Transportation: close to public transportation, driveway and street parking available. Family will provide a car for on the job driving if needed

Travel: No travel required at this time
