About the Family

A warm and welcoming family of five in Lincoln Park is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and polished Family Assistant to support their busy household. With all three children in school full-time, this role focuses on keeping the family’s home and lives running smoothly — blending household management, personal assistance, and family logistics.

Both parents have full and active schedules, they’re looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and warm — a right hand who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced household.

The family also has two beloved golden retrievers (including a puppy!) and hopes to find someone dog-friendly and confident managing pet care. They spend time seasonally in Nantucket and would love someone open to occasional travel.

This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for an organized, intuitive, and service-minded professional who enjoys supporting a busy family and creating calm amidst the bustle of daily life.

About the Role

The Family Assistant will work alongside existing household staff (including housekeepers and a full-time nanny) to ensure all aspects of the home, calendar, and daily logistics run seamlessly. The position includes:

  • Managing home systems, vendors, and service providers

  • Maintaining organization and inventory across both residences (Chicago and Nantucket)

  • Coordinating errands, travel, and events

  • Supporting Mom with personal and administrative tasks

  • Handling light family and pet-related care

This is not a childcare-focused role but includes family support tasks, occasional school pickups, or coordination with the nanny as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Home Management & Organization

  • Oversee daily home operations and general tidiness (resetting and organizing spaces)

  • Manage household inventory, purchasing, and restocking of supplies

  • Liaise with housekeepers; track schedules and manage payments

  • Maintain a seasonal upkeep calendar (e.g., air filters, coffee machine descaling, etc.)

  • Coordinate and oversee all vendor and maintenance appointments (e.g., landscaping, carpet cleaning, HVAC, etc.)

  • Maintain an organized off-site storage unit and household systems documentation

  • Support ongoing interior design projects and installations

Children’s Support & Family Logistics

  • Oversee closet and clothing management for the children (seasonal swaps, labeling, restocking essentials)

  • Handle school-related tasks such as forms, supplies, and calendar management

  • Assist with after-school activity registration, carpools, and camp preparation

  • Coordinate holiday gifts, teacher gifts, and school-related events

  • Keep the family calendar updated with school, travel, and activities

Personal & Administrative Support

  • Assist with calendar management, scheduling, and reminders

  • Support Mom with board work, volunteer initiatives, and event preparation

  • Maintain the family’s shared Google Drive and digital organization systems

  • Renew memberships, manage subscriptions, and coordinate philanthropic and social events

  • Handle personal errands, mail, and returns (dry cleaning, packages, Target pickups, etc.)

Event & Travel Coordination

  • Plan and manage family events and gatherings (vendor coordination, gift sourcing, on-site setup and oversight)

  • Oversee holiday décor, gifting, and seasonal projects

  • Coordinate travel logistics, packing/unpacking, and trip preparation

  • Maintain travel itineraries, reservations, and packing checklists

  • Occasionally travel with the family or prepare the home for time away

Pet Care

  • Manage grooming and vet appointments for two golden retrievers

  • Schedule and adjust dog walker routines as needed

  • Maintain records and reminders for medications and vaccinations

  • Provide daily walks and care when family or dog walker is unavailable

  • Arrange dog boarding or pet-sitting for travel

Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited for someone who:

  • Has 3–5+ years of professional experience as a Family or Household Assistant

  • Thrives on organization, systems, and efficiency

  • Is comfortable managing multiple priorities and staying steps ahead

  • Brings a calm, positive, and can-do attitude

  • Works well both independently and collaboratively

  • Loves dogs and is comfortable managing pet care

  • Has excellent communication skills and discretion

  • Is open to occasional travel and flexibility

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000–$115,000 annual salary (based on experience)

  • Guaranteed 50 hours/week

  • Two weeks of paid vacation (one week chosen by the assistant)

  • Five paid sick days

  • Paid major federal holidays

  • Open to healthcare stipend

About the Family

A warm, intellectually curious, and highly engaged family in Lexington is seeking a loving, organized, and proactive full-time nanny to support their two daughters, ages 5.5 and 3.5. They value kindness, intrinsic motivation, low-screen living, and a calm, structured home environment. Both parents work busy professional roles and are looking for a nanny who will truly become an extension of their family—someone who loves being a nanny, takes ownership over the rhythm of the household, and is excited by the idea of building a long-term relationship.

Their oldest daughter is bright, social, and full of personality—she thrives in group settings and attends a German immersion school in Boston full-time. Their younger daughter is thoughtful, independent, and particularly drawn to math and hands-on exploration. She attends a Montessori program in Lexington for half days. Both girls play beautifully on their own, respond well to structure, and enjoy a home with very limited screen time.

The family has no pets (though they may add one in the future), no allergies, and no dietary restrictions. They eat a balanced diet and value healthy, fresh meals prepared with care.

Travel is not required, and the family spends several weeks each year in Europe—those weeks would be paid time off for their nanny. They also hope to find someone who can occasionally help with overnights or weekend date-night coverage.

Ideal Candidate
