Description:

About the Family

A warm and welcoming Lexington family is seeking a proactive, organized, and nurturing full-time Nanny/Household Manager to care for their two wonderful boys, ages 11 and 6. Both children attend a school located just five minutes from the home.

Their 11-year-old is bright, funny, creative, and curious—he loves science, animals, video games, and playing the clarinet. Their 6-year-old is cheerful, energetic, playful, and music-loving, happiest when building Legos, exploring trucks, or diving into books. The family is looking for a nanny who enjoys supporting two very different personalities and can balance structure, patience, and fun.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Provide warm, engaged, and developmentally supportive care

  • Manage morning and after-school routines, including school drop-off/pick-up (nanny must have their own reliable car)

  • Drive children to activities, playdates, and appointments

  • Plan enriching activities tailored to each child’s interests

  • Prepare simple, kid-friendly meals and help introduce and encourage new foods for two picky eaters

  • Offer overnight care a few times per year when dad travels for work

  • Weekend support every other weekend would be helpful but is not required

Household Management

The family would love someone who genuinely enjoys keeping a home organized and running smoothly. Responsibilities include:

  • Light home tidying and organization

  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher

  • Pantry organization and maintenance

  • Grocery pick-up and putting groceries away

  • Household inventory management

  • Children’s laundry

  • Clothing inventory and seasonal organization

  • Resetting common areas and staying ahead of household needs

  • Occasional reminder for the oldest child to feed the family cat (no pet care required)

Travel

The family would love a nanny open to domestic travel once or twice per year—primarily within New England or nearby—and would enjoy having the nanny join.

Who They’re Looking For

The ideal nanny is:

  • Proactive and a true self-starter

  • Warm, nurturing, and collaborative

  • Structured, responsible, and organized

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • Firm but loving in their approach

  • Someone who genuinely loves being a nanny and takes pride in supporting a family’s day-to-day rhythms

Benefits

  • 40 hours/week guaranteed

  • 2 weeks paid vacation (nanny chooses one week)

  • Paid major holidays

  • 5 paid sick days

  • Open to offering a health-care stipend, if needed
