Location: Washington D.C.
Compensation: $32–$36 per hour | 30 hours per week
Start Date: Mid to Late June 2026

About the Family
A warm and dynamic family in Washington, D.C. is seeking an experienced nanny/house manager to support their imaginative and spirited 7-year-old daughter and help maintain a well-run household. The daughter is creative, precocious, and strong-willed, and thrives with caregivers who can provide both structure and encouragement. She attends school Monday–Friday from 8:00am–3:00pm and participates in after-school activities Monday through Thursday. The family is looking for a professional who can step in during the afternoons to provide consistent, engaging care while also supporting the operational needs of the home. Mom works a hybrid schedule between home and the office. The household includes one friendly dog.
About the Role
This role is a thoughtful blend of after-school childcare and household support. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and energetic—someone who can confidently manage the afternoon routine while anticipating the needs of both the child and the household.
Responsibilities include school pick-up and transportation to and from after-school activities, preparing healthy meals and snacks, and supporting the child’s routines with a balance of structure and warmth. Household responsibilities include kitchen tidying, light home organization, children’s laundry, seasonal wardrobe management, running errands, grocery shopping, meal preparation, taking out the garbage, and assisting with pet care. The family is seeking someone who is happy, optimistic, and confident, with a collaborative mindset and openness to both giving and receiving feedback.
Requirements:
Prior professional nanny/house management experience
Experience caring for school-aged children
CPR certification
4 year college degree
Strong organizational and household management skills
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Reliable personal vehicle for commuting and job-related responsibilities
Excellent references from previous families
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Pets: One dog (moderate care required)
Transportation: Must have own vehicle; street parking available
Travel: Travel not required; occasional overnight support (1–2 per quarter)
