About the Family
A warm family in Alpine, NJ is seeking an experienced ROTA Nanny to join their fully staffed household and work alongside an established ROTA nanny of two years. The family has two children: a 3.5-year-old girl and a 7-month-old boy. Both parents are very involved and work in and out of the home.
The 3.5-year-old is sweet, sensitive, observant, imaginative, and very bright. She is active and enjoys being outdoors, parks, animals, dancing, books, princesses, and imaginative play. The 7-month-old is a happy, affectionate baby who enjoys music, books, cuddling, and is beginning solids while following a structured feeding and sleep routine.
The family has a Household Manager/PA, chef, and housekeeper, allowing the nanny to remain fully focused on the children. A baby nurse will remain with the family for approximately four more weeks, with weekend support continuing through the baby's first birthday.
About the Role
This is a full-charge childcare role working in a 1 week on / 1 week off ROTA schedule opposite the family's existing nanny. The ideal candidate will be warm, engaging, active, intuitive, and genuinely enjoy being fully involved with the children.
Responsibilities include caring for both children independently, managing their daily routines, school drop-off and pick-up, planning activities and outings, maintaining children's spaces and routines, children's laundry, bottle cleaning, basic child meal preparation, and preparing the children and their belongings for travel.
The family travels domestically and internationally, including extended summer stays at their home in Spain. The nanny must be comfortable traveling internationally and adapting seamlessly to different residences and environments. Private en-suite accommodations are provided at all residences.
The ideal candidate will be professional, discreet, proactive, and an excellent communicator who can read the room and integrate seamlessly with the existing nanny and household team. ROTA or live-in experience is preferred, as is a long tenure with previous families. Bilingual candidates, particularly English/Spanish or English/Korean, required.
Requirements:
Significant professional nanny experience with infants and toddlers
Strong experience caring for multiple children simultaneously
ROTA or live-in nanny experience preferred
Long-term tenure with previous families strongly preferred
Strong understanding of infant and toddler development
Warm, engaging, active, and intuitive caregiving style
Highly proactive and able to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professionalism, discretion, and strong judgment
Ability to integrate seamlessly with an established household and childcare team
Comfortable working in a fully staffed household
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Comfortable driving children using a family-provided vehicle
Flexibility for domestic and international travel
Up-to-date passport
Must be based in the New York/New Jersey area
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Excellent references from previous families and employers
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Korean preferred
Pets: One small hypoallergenic dog. Parents primarily handle the dog's care; comfort around dogs is required.
Transportation: Family provides a nanny car for all on-the-job driving responsibilities. Transportation to/from work is also provided where applicable.
Travel: Domestic and international travel required, including extended summer travel to the family's home in Spain. All work-related travel expenses are covered.
