Description: A warm and welcoming family relocating from Pittsburg to Ellicott City is seeking a dedicated and experience full-time nanny/house manager to join their household and provide nurturing, developmentally focused care for their 2-year-old son. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (some flexibility for the right fit), 35-40 hours/week guaranteed
Compensation: $30 - $35/hr, based on experience
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation (nanny chooses one week), 5 paid sick days, paid major federal holidays, and a healthcare stipend if needed
Live-Out: This is a live-out role.
Household Dynamic:
The family's 2-year-old is easygoing, loves reading, trucks, and playing outdoors. He is currently in diapers and take a 2-hour midday nap. Starting in June, he will attend school from 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM (with plans to extend to a full day in the fall). Mom works full-time out of the home, and Dad will have a hybrid work schedule. The family does not have pets and avoids pork, preferring vegetarian (halal) meals around their child. They are seeking a nanny who is caring, dependable, and passionate about working with children, especially someone who enjoys outdoor play, has a gentle yet confident approach to boundaries, and is proactive in daily routines and household support. A Montessori background is appreciated (but not required), and a love for learning, creativity, and developmental engagement is essential. The family speaks Urdu/Hindi and English.
Ideal Candidate:
The right fit for this role will be nurturing, flexible, and highly organized. A background in early childhood education or familiarity with developmental play is a bonus. Someone who can gently guide the child outside his comfort zone, manage transitions with care, and support the family as they grow will thrive in this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, engaging care for the child in the afternoons and evenings
Plan educational, age-appropriate activities (minimal to no screen time)
Support nap transitions and gentle potty training when developmentally appropriate
School pick-up and driving to outings as needed (car required; gas reimbursed)
Prepare child's lunch and assist with light family dinner prep
Tidy kitchen, clean dishes, manage grocery delivers, and household inventory
Family laundry and organizing child's seasonal clothing
Run occasional errands and assist with unboxing/deliveries
Rare weekend or travel support appreciated but not required
Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
3+ years professional nanny experience
Infant and toddler experience preferred
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Valid driver's license and personal vehicle
Comfortable with light cooking and supporting household tasks
Warm, dependable, proactive, and flexible
