Hours: 50 guaranteed hours per week

About the Family:

A warm, engaged family in Northfield, IL is seeking a dynamic full-time nanny/household manager to support their two young children, ages 6 and 3. This is a wonderful opportunity for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative household and enjoys balancing hands-on childcare with proactive home management.

The 6-year-old boy is bright, social, and incredibly active. He is strong-willed in the best way and benefits from confident, calm guidance and connection-based care. He attends school from 8:30am–3:50pm, directly across the street from the family’s home, and the nanny will walk him to and from school daily.

The 3-year-old girl is sweet, energetic, and deeply imaginative. She loves pretend play and also thrives with engaged, present caregiving. She attends school from 8:30am–12:30pm, also across the street.

Both children respond beautifully to caregivers who lead with warmth, direct attention, and playful engagement. The family is seeking someone who is truly present — someone who can give focused, attuned care rather than being consistently on their phone.

Mom will be beginning a graduate program in the fall. Dad works from a separate office space within the home when he is not traveling or working from his outside office. The family has two huskies and one cat, so comfort with dogs is essential. Some pet care, including pet sitting during family travel, will be part of the role.

There are no dietary restrictions or allergies in the household.

Responsibilities

Childcare & Developmental Support:

• Morning routines and school preparation

• Walking children to and from school (school is across the street)

• Engaged daytime care for the 3-year-old when not in school

• After-school care and structured afternoon activities

• Planning age-appropriate outings and play

• Supporting emotional development and conflict resolution

• Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children

• Transportation to activities (nanny must use their own car; parking provided)
  Household Management Support:

• Kitchen tidying and daily reset

• Children’s laundry

• Light household tidying and organization

• Meal preparation for the family

• Grocery shopping and meal planning

• Errands for the household

• Managing household inventory

• Seasonal clothing organization and inventory for the children

• Coordinating and communicating with household vendors

• Servicing and scheduling maintenance for family vehicles

• Pet care, including occasional pet sitting during travel

Compensation & Benefits:

• $33–$45/hour, depending on experience
