Full-Time Nanny / Home School Teacher in Downers Grove, IL
Start: April 15 (flexible until May 15 for the right candidate)
Compensation: $30鈥$35/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday鈥揊riday, 9:00 am鈥5:00 pm (40 guaranteed hours per week)

A warm, structured, and literature-focused family in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a full-time Nanny / Home School Teacher for their sweet and bright 6-year-old son. This role is ideal for a proactive, education-driven candidate who loves curriculum support, lesson planning, and creating intentional, engaging days within a Christian, faith-centered home environment.
The child is currently homeschooled using a robust, set curriculum (Master Books, Math with Confidence, Explode the Code), participates in swim, soccer, occupational therapy, and weekly virtual speech therapy, and enjoys reading chapter books and field trips aligned with his subjects. The family values literature-based learning, prayer throughout the day, and encouragement of independence and self-advocacy.
Both parents work from home with periodic travel. The family may move west to Batavia in the near future.

鈥 Warm, responsible, and faith-aligned (Christian home with prayer before meals etc.)
鈥 Excited about lesson planning and curriculum implementation
鈥 Highly organized and proactive in structuring daily academic and enrichment activities
鈥 Comfortable supporting a child with mild language challenges and mindful about health (periodic COVID testing requested)
鈥 Present and focused during work hours (no casual cell phone use)
鈥 Preferably with an education or teaching background, though not required
鈥 Comfortable in helping nurture independence, teach life skills, and organize materials and learning spaces
Key Responsibilities:
Education & Curriculum Support:
鈥 Implement and support the established homeschool curriculum (math, language arts, science, social studies)
鈥 Assist with daily lesson planning and prep during free/ quiet time
鈥 Facilitate engaging read-alouds, chapter book discussions, and literature-based learning
鈥 Plan curriculum-aligned field trips, library visits, and educational outings
鈥 Create fun, game-based 鈥渟ummer camp鈥 routines in warmer months
Daily Rhythm & Child Engagement:
鈥 Support structured daily routines (breakfast finishes by 9:00 am, lessons, outdoor play, creative art, quiet/nap/meditation time)
鈥 Encourage physical activity, play, and social-emotional growth
鈥 Teach independence and life skills (laundry, clean-up after activities)
Household & Child-Focused Support:
鈥 Child鈥檚 laundry and teaching child to do laundry
鈥 Organizing child鈥檚 materials, spaces, and curriculum resources
鈥 Light clean-up after child activities
鈥 Respectful implementation of household rules (e.g., no cell phones around the child except during approved breaks)
鈥 Coordinate with parents on daily schedule and curriculum progress
Transportation:
鈥 Nanny must have a valid driver鈥檚 license and their own car
Compensation & Benefits:
