About the Family:

A kind, thoughtful family in Chevy Chase, Maryland is seeking a warm, reliable, and flexible full-time nanny to care for their two young boys, ages 3.5 years and 2 weeks old. This is an exciting season for their family as they adjust to life with a newborn while continuing to nurture their energetic and curious preschooler.

The older child (3.5) is high-energy, joyful, and full of personality. He has strong interests in baseball and music, loves going to the library, and enjoys reading. He thrives with engagement, structure, and positive connection. He attends preschool Monday–Friday from 9:00am–12:30pm.

The newborn is a preemie who is doing very well — feeding successfully and meeting milestones. Mom is combination breast and bottle feeding. The family is looking for a nanny who is confident and knowledgeable in newborn care, attentive to developmental milestones, and capable of supporting both children with patience and calm energy.

Mom works 100% remotely from a separate office space within the home, and Dad works a hybrid schedule, also from a separate office space. They are mindful of creating clear boundaries during the workday and are seeking a nanny who is comfortable working independently while maintaining open and respectful communication.

The family has one very friendly labradoodle. Pet care is minimal, but comfort around dogs is important.

The family follows a vegetarian lifestyle. While the nanny does not need to be vegetarian personally, they ask that no meat be cooked in the family’s cookware.

Ideal Candidate:

The family is seeking a nanny who is:

  • Reliable, patient, and kind

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs

  • Confident caring for both a newborn and a preschooler

  • Knowledgeable about infant and toddler developmental milestones

  • Calm, steady, and organized

  • Energetic and engaging with high-energy preschoolers

  • Comfortable working in a home with remote-working parents

  • Open to occasional schedule flexibility

  • A clear, professional communicator

  • Interested in building a long-term relationship with the family

This role is ideal for a nanny who enjoys the balance of newborn care and active preschool engagement, and who can thoughtfully support both children in different stages of development.

  • Prepare healthy vegetarian meals and snacks for the children

  • Offer occasional late evening coverage (with advance notice)

  • Rare overnights, weekend care, and date nights are a plus but not required

  • Openness to domestic or international travel is a nice-to-have (no travel currently planned)

Household Support (Child-Focused Priority):

  • Kitchen tidying

  • Children’s laundry

  • Light home tidying and organization

  • Meal prep for the children

  • Bottle cleaning and sanitation

  • Taking out the garbage

Childcare is always the primary focus, with household tasks completed as time allows.

Additional Needs:

  • Nanny should have a reliable personal vehicle and use their own car on the job (parking available)

  • Comfortable in a vegetarian household (no cooking meat in family cookware)

  • Comfort around a friendly labradoodle

Monday–Friday: 7:30am–5:00pm
47.5 guaranteed hours per week

The family is looking for a candidate with a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to stay slightly late one evening per week on occasion.
