About the Family
A warm and welcoming family in Brookline is seeking a nurturing, reliable, and developmentally minded nanny to care primarily for their infant daughter while also supporting their bright and engaging 5-year-old son. Their son is smart, curious, and has a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoys school and after-school programming and is typically out of the home during the majority of the day, allowing for a primary focus on infant care. Both parents work from home when not on parental leave, with Dad on leave until September and Mum on leave until October. They value a collaborative, communicative relationship with their nanny and are looking for someone who brings a calm, thoughtful presence to their home. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely loves working with children, is knowledgeable about infant development, and is eager to partner with parents in a supportive and respectful way. The family hopes to find someone who can truly become part of their team and build a close, trusting relationship with both children.
About the Role
This role is centered on providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care for an infant while also offering occasional support for the older child as needed. Responsibilities include supporting feeding routines, establishing healthy sleep habits, and engaging the baby in age-appropriate developmental activities that encourage growth and exploration. The nanny will also assist with school pick-ups for the older child and should be comfortable caring for both children together for short periods when needed, such as during school holidays or afternoon transitions.
The nanny will also assist with a range of child-related household tasks to help the home run smoothly. These include children’s laundry, bottle cleaning and sterilization, light tidying, and organization of child-related spaces. While care should always remain child-focused, the family appreciates proactive support where time allows.
They are seeking someone who is warm, loving, adaptable, and able to meet children where they are developmentally. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be open to giving and receiving feedback, and value honesty and transparency in their working relationship with the family. Occasional weekend or date night support would be appreciated but is not required.
